Fear of flying: the best way to survive a plane trip

Check in done, boarding pass in your hand, security checks performed... you really hoped this time never came... Leisure, work, or for whatever reason, now it's time to board that damn plane!

Every person experiencing fear for flight lives his "tragedy" in a very personal way, and for this reason it is impossible to give a generic help guideline.

What I can tell you for sure, and I hope this can help you,  is: Do not be ashamed of your discomfort! You are absolutely not the only one, you are not a wimp, you are not ridiculous... If you look around, while you wait in front of the gate, just realize that you are surrounded by dozens of people in the same sort of mood!

As soon as you get on board, whenever you can, talk to one of the flight attendants; let him/her know about your feeling, maybe even joking about it, or simply clearly stating the truth. There is nothing to be ashamed of, and you will actually see that the cabin crew will do their best to make you feel comfortable and with absolute discretion will "keep an eye" on you  during the flight.

Showing your apprehension is a lot more appreciated than being goofy and trying to hide it, without succeeding most of the times
